In what seems like the fulfillment of thirst for innovation, grapevine has it that Apple is the process of developing a second-generation Apple Pencil. The new Apple Pencil is likely to be unveiled in an event slated for taking place in March and will also be accompanied by the introduction of the next version of the iPad Pro. Sources from the supply chain in Asia have also revealed that the accessory will be arriving in the spring.
Although rumors from Chinese microblogging website Weibo have very little reliability, there are all indications that the iPhone maker is raring to grow its innovation. A previous rumor instigated by Bloomberg suggested that the Apple Pencil would be affixed to the new iPad capabilities but within a larger set up of other apps. Nonetheless, there are no details of the prospective features of the accessory.
But it makes some sense for Apple to unveil an updated pencil accessory
The American tech giant has been towing with the idea of a second-generation Apple Pencil. However, it seems like time is now ripe to pull the trigger. Apparently, the Apple Pencil is already in use across the world having been released in 2015. But there is a hint of features from a patent filed by Apple for a similar device. The patent is primarily focusing on a magnetic system, which will introduce additional hardware. The patent also highlighted the possibility of a sensor fitting, which functions as an eraser.
But even with all this hype of the accessory’s functionality, none of the features has been confirmed. Hence it still remains a mystery what the second-generation Apple Pencil, a situation that is creating more anxiety.
What about the new iPad Pro?
The new iPad Pro, which will be launched alongside the Pencil 2 is rumored to pack a 10.5 inches display. It is also likely that it will be dropping the Home button given that it will free of the bezel design. The display could also sport such like Touch ID and an advanced A10X processor.
In the meantime, Apple’s stock closed at $119.78 a decline of 0.21 or 0.18%.
